I’m always dragging you along to meet my new friends. Sometimes you make it clear that you would rather not, but more often you are up for an adventure and an outing. You were all for it when I said we were going to the beach! We met with Michelle, a fellow photographer and her kids, Sylvie and August. You were excited to play but grabbed a hold of me and wouldn’t let me go too far when we got there. We had a little play at the playground before making our way over to the beach. It was so peaceful there and the sand was so clean and flat. It was a cool day but you were all rugged up and when you saw Sylvie taking her shoes and socks off, of course you had to follow! You two are so similar. It was so nice to see you able to enjoy some time with someone your age and size and although you weren’t singing and dancing and chatting with each other, you enjoyed each other’s company and trotted along collecting sand (yes, collecting sand, you wanted to bring it all home with us!) and exploring. I love watching the wind blow your beautiful long hair about. I love seeing your curious eyes wander about, finding interest in all the things you see around you that anyone else might overlook. I love how playful and joyous you are. I love that although you may be having an awesome time, you still want me there with you, keeping a close watch and being your protector. I’m so blessed to have you in my life and although I want you to stay this little forever, I look so forward to watching you grow and to be by your side as your Mother and friend.
